On Thursday I spoke about how I pivoted during COVID and took the path less traveled. What I didn't speak about, however, was why social media & writing...You may think that it's obvious - before I was a home organizer, that was the field I was in. But to me, especially at the time, it wasn't so obvious. I was burnt out. I thought I needed a different field. The fact that I pivoted to a home organizer in December 2019 was a choice to do something I love, but more importantly, it was to step away from burn out. But then something crazy happened...To create my home organizing business I needed to utilize social media. I made a blog & an Instagram dedicated to the business, 'Tidy with Tamar', and I promoted it. I shared about it, wrote about it, and made tons of content around it. And through that I realized that I wasn't burnt out from social media & writing. I just needed to work for the right clients.I needed to work for organizations and companies that I believed in. Plus, I needed to set my own rules. I was born with the entrepreneurial spirit and I needed to feed that ๐ŸดSo when COVID hit, it took a few months, but eventually my path became obvious. Social media, writing, marketing, and content were calling me back. Today, here I am. Tales Of has developed and I'm truly living my best life ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸปBut sometimes, we all need that break. That reset. When was a time that you needed a reset career wise? A break from what you were doing? Would love to hear โฌ‡๏ธ

Wow, I am absolutely blown away by your incredible journey! When I read your line, "I was born with the entrepreneurial spirits and needed to feed that!!", it resonated with me deeply. I, too, have experienced burnout after dedicating nearly 30 years to the real estate industry. However, I discovered a newfound love for content and technical writing, which I had dabbled in during my time in real estate. Now, as a freelancer, I am thoroughly enjoying the fresh responsibilities that come with it. What's even more exciting is that my clients appreciate my business entrepreneurial views and I am able to truly connect with my audience when crafting content for them. I'm cheering you on every step of the way! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

As an Instagram creator, I thought I knew how to hack the whole field. Then, I started posting on LinkedIn. You see, Instagram and LinkedIn are two completely different beasts. Yes, we must connect with others. Be social. Be active. Be consistent. But Instagram is all about the video or picture whereas LinkedIn is all about the writing. On Instagram the writing is important. On LinkedIn, if you don't have a good hook - you've lost your audience. On Instagram, you can be funny/goofy/chill as can be. On LinkedIn, you should be a professional. Talk like a professional. Engage like a professional. On Instagram, you can just be yourself. You don't need knowledge. You just need to be you. On LinkedIn, knowing your stuff is key to success. These are just some differences I've picked up on since I started my LinkedIn journey. It's not easy to figure out my voice on LinkedIn.I'm much more comfortable on Instagram. But as they say, "Try, try, try again!" & "Fake it til you make it!" So here I am, learning the ropes. Trying to grasp the difference in platform. And showing up day in and day out. What a journey it's been ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿฅณ

"You thought no one saw you..." Unfortunately, these were the words my sister said to me while we were sitting in the park just a few weeks ago.I was a few minutes late and, unfortunately, cut off some cars to make up for time. Little did I know, however, my sister was one of the cars I cut off ๐Ÿ˜ฑOf course, I felt even more terrible ๐Ÿ˜ž But it also taught me an important lesson in that even when we don't realize, people are watching. We may think we can sneak something, get away with a hack, or beat around the bush...But we must remember that more often than not, we are being watched. Someone is aware of what we are doing. And this goes for the good too! So whether you want people to realize or not, remember the reality: You may dance like no one's watching...but often, someone is ๐Ÿ˜Ž

It takes a true creative to form a song with subliminal messaging like Eden Golan had to do with her song "October Rain" for Eurovision. Unfortunately, her original lyrics were banned from the competition for being considered "too political" but last night, at a rally in Tel Aviv's Hostage Square, she was able to perform with the real lyrics. If you were moved with the words, "Hurricane" - just listen to "October Rain". What an incredible woman! Way to go Eden ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑWhat an inspiration ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Is there such thing as a stupid question? ๐Ÿค” I'm sure you've heard the expression, "there's no such thing as a stupid question." If you're like me, you've heard this expression thousands of times as a kid. Likely, you still hear it! But if you're like me, I'm sure you've also been told to not ask a question like X, Y, or Z.Which begs the question: Is there such thing as a stupid question? ๐Ÿค” Something to think about...#questions #learning #pointstoponder

"When one door closes, build a window." ๐ŸชŸ ๐ŸชŸ ๐ŸชŸI'll never forget it. It was March 2020. We had just started the medication for our first round of fertility treatment. I was four months into a new home organizing business. Things were going great. And then, out of nowhere, corona came and everything I thought was going to be, never ended up happening. I had to pivot my job, our treatment was on pause, and anxiety was insurmountable.I felt lost and confused, unaware of what path to go down, afraid that things would never turn around. The first few weeks I lied around. I didn't want to face the next day.My life on hold. Without a job.But then, something remarkable happened...I realized that instead of being afraid of the pain - I should lean into it. I realized that we're all in pain in one way or another - it just depends on how we handle it. So on July 2nd, I decided to share my story. To be open and personable. To create a platform of hope, strength, and perservance when life throws challenges our way. When we are forced to take the path less traveled ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ‘ฃSince that day, my mission has only gotten stronger, my platform has only gotten bigger, and my purpose has only been more defined. Of course, there are days where I miss being a home organizer.Of course, I wish we started treatment when we were supposed to. But I'm grateful for being where I am in my journey today. I'm grateful to have my own podcast, "Anything But Traditional". I'm grateful to have my own business, tales-of.com. I'm grateful for my Instagram page, Instagram.com/talesoftamar. But what I'm most grateful for is the ability to pivot. The ability to reassess even when faced with real challenges. March 2020 wasn't easy, no one had it easy, but it was a year of reprioritizing, growth, change, strength, and opportunity. And for that, I am most grateful ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป #covid #pivot #adaptability

KISS. 'Keep it simple, stupid." The way I've always understood this phrase is - don't make it harder for yourself than it needs to be.But is making something longer or more complex the 'harder way'? I would venture to guess that many of us find keeping it simple the harder way. That it takes more effort to cut back on our words (and keep it concise) than just writing and writing and writing โœ๏ธ๐Ÿป So shouldn't the acronym be something more like 'BSKIS'AKA 'Be Smart, Keep It Simple'?Perhaps, I'm looking too far into this. If you've read this far and that's what you're thinking - I get it. If you've read this far and thinking, 'too long of a post for a post about keeping it simple' - I get that too. But just take a moment and think this out :

If infertility has taught me anything, it's that 'life is a waiting game'. Sometimes we're waiting for the next retrieval or transfer. Sometimes we're waiting for a parking spot. And other times, we're waiting to get more work. But what do we do while we wait? That's life's biggest question. How will you answer it today? #waiting #lifelessons #infertility

Sick days suck. You feel unproductive. Like there's nothing that you can accomplish. Time is completely lost. But what if I told you that there's much to do when you're sick? What if I told you that when you're sick is the time to take advantage of the mundane tasks that you've been pushing off? To work on the mind numbing projects?Well, yesterday, that's exactly what I did ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿปโœ…๏ธ I sorted my pictures & videos in my Google drive โœ…๏ธ I got up to date with my Tefillah & Challah Baking initiatives โœ…๏ธ I got in touch with people that I had been meaning to get in touch with These aren't top priority tasks, but they're tasks that I'm proud to have accomplished. Tasks that I could go to bed happy that I did something productive. What about you? What are your favorite tasks to do when you're under the weather? Would love to hear ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿป
