Essential Functions:

Employee Development:

  • Develop and implement an overall employee development strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Design and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and seminars covering a range of topics including-but-not-limited-to leadership development, member service excellence, compliance training, products & services, technical skills, and topics to support advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, branch and department managers to assess training needs and develop targeted learning and assessment plans for employees at all levels in service of enhanced member experience and employee performance.
  • Utilize a variety of training methods and technologies to ensure employees receive fair and equitable training, accommodate different learning styles and to support workplace accommodations.
  • Create an encouraging learning environment through coaching, mentoring, and providing frequent feedback.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, develop, launch and manage employee development pogroms including-but-not-limited-to career pathing, mentoring, on-the-job-training, and new hire onboarding programs.
  • Coordinate all on-going training for all staff; communicating to ensure positive and clear understanding of new or revised products, services, sales techniques, special programs, policies and procedures; including creating curriculum, training plans, facilitation, and collaboration with specific departments.
  • Train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in effective employee development.

Leadership:

  • In coordination with Human Resources, responsible for hiring, promoting, transferring, corrective action and discharging of staff; fairly and consistently document employee performance (coaching, notes, and appraisals) in the performance management system.
  • Maintain, monitor, train, and coach staff on internal controls, compliance, laws, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures in area of responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships with the Embold team, departments, senior managers, vendors, and direct reports; provide friendly and prompt internal and external service by modeling the service initiatives of the organization.
  • Lead and/or participate in assigned internal committees.

Department Operations:

  • Manage the Credit Union’s Procedure Documentation program.
  • Manage and administer the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Create, implement, and maintain consistent ongoing metric tracking systems to demonstrate training impact and success of programs; conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Develop and maintain organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities including departmental and individual goals and objectives as assigned.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all non-public data and uphold the financial integrity of the Credit Union.
  • Advise direct manager of any atypical situation that could pose a threat, risk or loss to the Credit Union.
  • In coordination with the CPO, develop and manage the department’s budget.

  • Continual understanding, applied knowledge of, and adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting.
  • Ongoing professional development – must complete the annual required courses and trainings; must meet expectations on Performance Evaluations and Behavioral Expectations.

Management Scope:

  • Has supervisory/managerial responsibilities over a branch or small to medium sized department. Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned staff, typically with a subordinate group of up to 15 employees. Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and applies company policy. Can include department heads with no staff.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Independent Judgement:

  • A professional level of self-direction and autonomy is expected of this position. Diversified procedures, specialized job standards, and specific policies, as well as agreed upon objectives, deadlines and priorities limit the latitude permitted for independent judgment requiring analytical ability, judgment, and time management skills. The employee prioritizes their work-flow, carries out the successive steps and handles problems and deviations in the work assignment in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. This can be a mid-level manager or a high individual contributor.

Mental Complexity:

  • Problems encountered are somewhat complex, and may involve consideration of a variety or breadth of data and information. Frequently requires a mental focus of 1 hour or more per assignment or task. However, problems are generally similar in nature, with previous precedent to draw upon.

Organizational Impact:

  • The position is expected to have a notable impact on current financial or strategic organizational goals and objectives. The effects of the job could impact a segment of customers and/or employees across several functional areas. However, decisions or results that could have an organization wide impact would be preapproved by a more senior level position.

Potential for Error:

  • Very limited supervision of work. Errors can be very difficult to resolve and/or consequences of potential errors can be of greater significance. OR Under general management, directs the activities of a small department, branch or a functional unit within a larger department. Usually involved in the identification and resolution of problems and errors of others.

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and lifting up to 10lbs regularly; on occasion lifting up to 30lbs.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment; e.g. computer, telephone, scanner, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.
  • Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a professional environment.
  • Days and hours of work will be established to cover office operations, typically ranging Monday through Saturday.
  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • This position may be required to travel to other branches for coverage, and to all staff meetings.
  • Potential exposure to hazards, i.e. robbery, etc.

  • Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Must be able to read and carry out various written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.

  • Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
  • Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
Experience:
  • REQUIRED:Five years of similar or related duties (as outlined in the essential functions), including time spent in similar or preparatory positions.
  • PREFERRED:Greater than five years of similar or related duties
Education:
  • REQUIRED:A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school with a concentration in Education, Training and Development, Human Resources or related field.
  • PREFERRED:A Bachelor’s degree and/or completion of a specialized course or certification (SHRM-SCP, HRCI-PHR, Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).

Work Schedule

FULL-TIME – Exempt – 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Monday thru Friday.

Starting Pay Range

$89,164.94 to $99,591.99 annually.
