Position - Adjunct Instructor - Physics Fall 2023 & Spring 2024
The School of STEM at Avila University is seeking qualified adjunct instructors positions for physics courses.
Avila University needs adjunct instructors for multiple physics courses that will be held on-campus. Teaching responsibilities will include:
Lectures and/or labs for Physics Concepts (for healthscience majors) and General Physics (for science majors).
Conduct all class sessions according to the assigned schedule.
Provide instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to adequately cover all objectives for the specific course(s) taught.
Deliver content using effectual methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experience.
Work effectively with the program Chair and/or the Laboratory Manager.
Perform other duties as needed related to assigned courses.
Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in specific discipline relevant to teaching responsibilities or a Master's degree in another area with 18 credit hours of discipline graduate coursework from an accredited university/college.
Successful candidates should be committed to contributing to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work.
Stipend based on the credit hours assigned and previous teaching experience.
